Dominion Closets — Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Dominion Closets designs, builds and installs custom storage for homes. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse our website, request a free estimate or become a customer — and how we use, share and protect it.

  • Effective date: July 30, 2026
  • Last updated: July 30, 2026

Who we are

This website is operated by Dominion Closets ("Dominion Closets", "we", "us" or "our"). We are a custom closet and home-storage company offering walk-in and reach-in closets, wardrobes, pantry storage, garage systems, home offices, laundry rooms, Murphy beds and entertainment centers, including in-home design consultations, manufacturing and installation.

This policy applies to our website, our online forms and configurator, and the phone, text and email conversations we have with you about our products and services. It does not apply to any third-party website we link to.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to answer your questions, quote your project and complete the work you hire us to do.

Category Examples
Contact details Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and the service address where the work would be installed.
Project details Room type and measurements, photos or floor plans you send us, finish and hardware selections, budget range, preferred timeline, and notes from your consultation.
Appointment details The showroom or design consultation you book, the date and time, and any access instructions you give us.
Transaction details Quotes, contracts, invoices, deposits and payment status. Card and bank details are entered directly with our payment processor — we do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
Communications Messages you send through our forms, email threads, text messages, and notes or recordings of calls where we tell you a call is recorded.
Website and device data IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookie or similar identifiers.
Marketing preferences Whether you have opted in to email or text updates, and whether you have unsubscribed.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, health information, or information about your race, religion, political views or sexual orientation. Please do not send us this information. If financing is offered on your project, any credit application is handled directly by the finance provider under its own privacy policy.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you — when you request a free estimate, use the closet configurator, book a consultation, call or text us, email us, subscribe to updates, or sign a quote or contract.
  • Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies as you use the website (see Cookies and tracking).
  • From service providers — for example our scheduling, CRM, analytics, advertising and payment providers, which pass us the information you submitted through them.
  • From referral sources — if you contacted us through a home services marketplace, a builder, a designer, a trade partner or a customer referral, that source may share your enquiry details with us.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries, provide quotes and free estimates, and schedule design consultations, site measurements and installations;
  • design, manufacture, deliver and install your storage system, and handle service, warranty and repair requests;
  • process deposits and payments, and keep contract, invoice and warranty records;
  • send appointment confirmations, reminders, installation updates and other service messages about work in progress;
  • send marketing about our products, promotions and showroom events, where you have opted in or where permitted by law;
  • operate, secure and improve the website, the configurator and our customer service, including measuring which pages and campaigns are useful;
  • prevent fraud and misuse, and protect our customers, employees and business;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, licensing, insurance and building-code obligations, and resolve disputes.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not use it for profiling of that kind.

Calls, texts and email

When you give us your phone number on a form such as "Free estimate" or "Call now", you agree that we may contact you about your enquiry by phone, text message or email — including with an autodialer or prerecorded message where we say so on the form.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can decline marketing contact and still receive a quote and buy from us.

Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages, or HELP for help. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email to stop marketing email. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service messages about an active project, such as appointment and installation updates.

We may monitor or record calls for quality and training purposes. Where we do, we will tell you at the start of the call.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our providers use cookies, pixels, tags and local storage for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — to load pages, keep forms and the configurator working, remember your session and protect against abuse. These cannot be switched off.
  • Preferences — to remember choices such as your selected showroom or saved configurator options.
  • Analytics — to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it, using providers such as Google Analytics.
  • Advertising — to measure our campaigns and show you our ads on other sites and social platforms, using providers such as Google Ads and Meta. These may involve sharing online identifiers with those platforms.

Your choices

Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies before setting them, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the opt-outs offered by Google Analytics, the DAA and the NAI. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of targeted advertising and any sharing of personal information for that purpose. Browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" setting; because there is still no common industry standard for it, we respond to GPC rather than to Do Not Track.

When we share information

We share personal information only as described below.

  • Service providers that work on our behalf under contract — website hosting, CRM and quoting tools, scheduling, email and text messaging, analytics and advertising platforms, payment processors, e-signature and accounting software, and IT support.
  • Installers, fabricators and trade partners who need your name, service address, contact number and project specification to manufacture, deliver or install your system.
  • Financing providers, if you apply for financing through an option we offer.
  • Professional advisers such as our accountants, insurers and lawyers, where reasonably needed.
  • Legal and safety disclosures — where we must comply with law, a subpoena or a lawful request, or where we need to enforce our contracts or protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our team or the public.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
  • With your direction — for example when you ask us to speak with your designer, contractor, property manager or a member of your household, or when you agree to let us feature your project in our portfolio.

We ask our providers to use your information only for the services they provide to us and to keep it secure.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising other than through the advertising cookies described above — which some state laws treat as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". You can opt out of that at any time through our cookie settings, by sending a GPC signal, or by contacting us using the details in Contact us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. In practice that means:

  • Enquiries that do not become projects — normally up to 24 months from your last contact with us.
  • Customer project records — for the life of the product warranty and as long as needed to honour it, and typically at least 7 years for contract, tax and accounting purposes.
  • Marketing lists — until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again by mistake.
  • Website analytics — usually up to 26 months, per our analytics provider's retention settings.

We may keep information longer where the law requires it or where we need it for an ongoing dispute, claim or insurance matter.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including HTTPS encryption on our website, access controls and role-based permissions for staff, hosted systems from established vendors, and staff training on handling customer information. Card payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers.

No website or system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send sensitive information such as full payment card or account numbers by email or text. If we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires.

We operate in the United States and store information on servers located there. If you contact us from outside the United States, understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know and access what personal information we hold about you, where we got it, why we use it and who we share it with, and to receive a portable copy;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete personal information we hold about you;
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, of any sale or sharing of your personal information, and of marketing email and text;
  • Limit our use of sensitive personal information;
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights — our prices and service do not change because you made a request;
  • Appeal a decision, if we decline your request.

How to make a request

Email us or call us using the details in Contact us and tell us which right you want to exercise. We will verify your identity by matching the details you give us against our records — we may ask for your name, the email or phone number you used with us, and your service address. We do not use verification information for any other purpose.

We respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need a further 45 days. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission and proof of identity. There is no charge unless a request is excessive or repetitive, and we will tell you before any charge applies. If we decline your request, we will explain why and how to appeal; you may also contact your state attorney general.

Notice for California residents

Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the rights listed above in relation to the categories of personal information in Information we collect. In the past 12 months we have collected those categories, used them for the purposes described in How we use your information, and disclosed them for business purposes to the recipients listed in When we share information. We have not sold personal information for money. You may also request the "Shine the Light" disclosure about information shared with third parties for their own direct marketing.

Notice for Virginia and other state residents

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising and to appeal a denied request. We handle all such requests the same way, wherever you live.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults who are shopping for home storage. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not direct our marketing to them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our site links to other websites and social platforms — for example review sites, our social profiles, financing partners and manufacturer pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before giving them your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business, technology or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If the changes are significant, we will give you clearer notice — for example a notice on this site or an email to subscribers — before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
